Sending Japanese Language Teachers
to the High School in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

A Memorandum of Understanding is signed 22nd May 2011 by the representative of Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd., Abu Dhabi Oil Co., Ltd.,"ADOC", a subsidiary of Cosmo Oil, and Ritsumeikan University, on one hand and the representatives of the Institute of the Applied Technology, "IAT" on the other hand, with the objective of conducting the Japanese Language Teaching Program, "JLTP" in the IAT Abu Dhabi premises as of the next school year starting on September 2011.

The "JLTP" which dates back to the meeting of April 2005 between H.H. Sh. Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Mr. Keiichiro Okabe, Chairman of Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd., has been conducted first in one of Abu Dhabi's public elementary school as of the 2007 academic year for a period of 3 years.

The current "JLTP" objective is to target Abu Dhabi higher level of students with a technical background and to teach them the Japanese Language and to introduce them to the Japanese culture. The current "JLTP" period of study is for 3 years and will be conducted under the supervision of Ritsumeikan University, a Japanese University based in Kyoto-Japan.

In the presence of H.E. T. Watanabe, Japanese Ambassador in the UAE, the signing ceremony was concluded. Cosmo Group and Ritsumeikan University expressed their hope in achieving successful result for this program and wished that such activities would boost further the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, the UAE and Japan.
